She was born Nov. 18, 1908, in Sullivan, the daughter of Oscar and Daisy (Lambright) Willie.
She retired after working as a nurse's aid at Glenburn Home. She was an Avon representative and former farm owner. She attended Summerville Church of Christ and was a member of the Dugger Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Walter Mattox and his wife, Linda, of Bloomfield, two sisters, Ruth Russell of Jasonville and Audrey Stockrahm of Greencastle, a sister-in-law, Josephine Willie of Martinsville, a grandson, Chris Mattox and his wife, Michelle, of Bloomfield, two great-granddaughters, Blaise and Ava Mattox, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence S. Mattox, March 16, 1995, a brother, Max Willie, two sisters, Clara Houpt and Veneda Harmon, and her parents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel. Burial will follow at K of P Cemetery in Hymera.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
