Evelyn M. (Barnhart) Stiffler Phifer, 93, of Jasonville and formerly of Kokomo, passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Monday at Sullivan Health & Living Center in Sullivan.

Born Oct. 13, 1913 in Springboro, Ohio, she was the daughter of Clayton and Violet Marie (Gibson) Barnhart.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Jasonville Assembly of God Church, where she served many years as a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include four daughters, Sharon Grizzel of Jasonville, Evelyn Deloris Duncan of Waveland, Sarah Marie Brewer of Kokomo and Susan Bair of Shelburn; two sisters, Judy and Helen; and one brother, Jimmy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 30 years Howard B . Phifer; a son, Robert E. Hardman; son-in-law, Richard E. Brewer; a grandson, Richard Douglas Brewer; several sisters and one brother.

Service will be 2 p.m. on Friday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Sam Bush officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. on Saturday at Union Cemetery in Kokomo.

Friends may call 4:30-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
