John D. Wilkes, 37, of Cloverdale and formerly of Linton, passed away at 11:12 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2006 at his residence.

Born in Linton on May 22,1969, he was the son of John A. and Carol K. (King) Wilkes.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operators Union.

Survivors include his parents; wife, Angela; daughter; Ashley Wilkes; maternal grandmother; Alfreda King of St. Johnbury, Vt.; and his sister; Lynn A. (Tom) Louviere of Jasper.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.

A private graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at the Dugger Cemetery with Brother Nick Moore officiating.

A private visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. today at Anderson-Poindexter Dugger Chapel.

Memorial contributions are to be made to the Shriners Children Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. Unit. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
