Damaris M. "Dee" Newkirk, 78, Albuquerque, N.M., passed away at 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 at Bee Hive Homes in Albuquerque.

Born Nov. 26, 1927 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Scott and Dortha Newkirk.

Survivors include: two daughters, Leslie Beth Corbin of Alburquerue and Christine Ann Corbin of Huntsville, Texas; two brothers, Earl Rex Newkirk of New Orleans, La., and Jerry Dean Newkirk of Washington; one sister, Brenda Sue Norris of Bloomington; and grandsons, Andrew and David Hsi of Alburquerue.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Max Newkirk.

Service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Newkirk Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker officiating. Burial will follow at Stafford Cemetery in Greene County.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Friday.
