Born April 11, 1932 in Martin County, he was the son of James and Louisa (Mowery) Achors.
He retired from Tri-State Silo Inc. where he was the owner and operator for more than 30 years. He was a member of Eagles Lodge No. 3552 in Charlotte, and a member of the Duck Lake Country Club where he enjoyed his favorite hobby of golf.
Preceding him in death were his parents; infant sister, Mary; and 3 brothers, Charles, Joseph and Noah.
Survivors include: his wife, Helen, seven daughters-Tricia (Mark) Noss, Montra (Kirk) Yarch, Sherry (Glenn) Freeman, Judith (Michael) Pettit, Connie (Jerry) Crosby, Merry (Mike Grady) Achors, and Jill (Joe) Darrow; four-stepchilden - Keith (Mary Jo) Budd, Vince (Kimberly) Budd, Gaylene Arey and Tim Budd; 20 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two brothers - John (Jerri) Achors and Luther Achors; three sisters - Hildred (Norman) Gahimer, Cora (Russell) Cutsinger and Emma White.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Thursday from the Skinner Funeral Home in Eaton Rapids.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday noon until service time.
