Frances K. Shafer

Frances K. Shafer, 63, Linton, passed away at 8:05 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.

She was born June 19, 1943 in Terre Haute, the daughter of Oscar and Gladys Clawson Smith.

Survivors include: four sons, Raymond Bixler and Brian Bixler, both of Linton, Aaron Bixler of Terre Haute and Curtis Bailey of Missouri; two sisters, Joan Stevens and Betty Roberts, both of New Jersey; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Shafer; a brother, Leo Smith; and a sister, Lillian.

There will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation is scheduled.

Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger is in charge of arrangements.
