Born Sept. 20, 1922, in Joplin, Mo., he was the son of James and Alberta Means.
He was a truck driver, mechanic and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Bloomington.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Mary Mullis of Bloomington; three daughters, Flora Williams of Bloomington, Mary Means and Jean Means, both of California; one son, Melvin Means of Michigan; one sister, Mary D. Jones of Florida; three stepsons, Eugene Prince and Roger Prince, both of Bloomington, and Scott Prince of Dugger; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Valhalla Memory Gardens Chapel in Bloomington with the Rev. Bruce Rose officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
There will be no visitation.
