Vivian Viola Cox, 91, of Pleasantville, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1915 in Sullivan County to Jacob Hutchison and Ida Hagerman Hutchison.

She was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, serving as church treasurer, and a member of the United Methodist Women organization.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Archie Cox, whom she married on Sept. 3, 1935; three daughters, Brenda Smith, Gayle McCullough, and Cheryl Long; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, two sisters, and a son-in-law.

Funeral service was Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Gould officiating. Burial was in the Mount Moriah Cemetery.
