She was born Jan. 2, 1919 in Putnam County to Harlie R. and Eda (Masten) McIntyre.
She was a clerk for the Indiana State Highway Department, a fingerprint classifier for the Indiana State Police and had been a switchboard operator for the New Winchester Telephone Company. She was a member of the New Winchester Christian Church, a past worthy matron of the Groveland OES Chapter No. 330 and the East Center Club.
Survivors include: Children, Alden (Erin) Cassity of Danville, Elvin Ray (Kathy) Cassity of New Winchester and Marlene Newby of Bloomfield; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gordon E. McIntyre of Danville; and a sister, Phyllis Stewart of Brookston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett W. Cassity; a son-in-law, Rick Newby; and a sister, Alleen Gregory.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at the New Winchester Christian Church. Burial will follow at New Winchester Cemetery.
