Steven Keith Eslinger, 23, of Vicksburg, passed away on Monday morning, Feb. 19, 2007 in Lyons due to a motor vehicle accident.

He was born April 3, 1983, in Bedford, the son of Donnie and Linda (Lucas) Eslinger.

He was in customer service at Linton Wal-Mart. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Linton and was a member of the 380th Quarter Master Company Army Reserve in Terre Haute. He was a 2001 graduate of Calvary Christian School in Linton.

Survivors include his wife, Alaina R. (Fortune) Eslinger, to whom he was married April 21, 2003; his parents, Donnie and Linda Eslinger of Vicksburg; a daughter, Jordyn A. Fortune at home in Vicksburg; paternal grandparents, Rollie and Pansy Eslinger of Dugger; maternal grandmother, Leona Lucas of Vicksburg; sister, Laura Eslinger of Vicksburg; brother-in-law, J.T. Roberts Jr. of Shelburn; mother-in-law, Rebecca Fortune of Shelburn; and several aunts and uncles. He and his wife was expecting a child in August 2007.

He was preceded by his maternal grandfather, Bob Lucas.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Dr. Eugene Riker officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday, and after 10 a.m. on Thursday.
