Born Feb. 7, 1927 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Cecil E. and Ruby J. (Johnson) Lovelace.
He was a self-employed carpenter.
An U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post No. 172.
Survivors include his wife, Annabelle M. Lovelace whom he married Dec. 31, 1949; three daughters, Diane and husband Bill Secrest of Linton, Debra Sweeney of Sullivan and Mary Ann Field of Coalmont; one son, James L. Lovelace and friend Karen Rawley of Worthington; three sisters, Katherine Brauer of Indianapolis, Dorothy Leggins of Needmore and Sharon Eakles of Indianapolis; one brother, Ronald Lovelace of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and three sisters.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Jonathan Heard officiating.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. until services Saturday at the funeral home.
