Agnes P. Neumeyer-Vest

Agnes P. Neumeyer-Vest, 88, of Spencer, formerly of Worthington and Freedom, passed away, 11:21 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.

She was born Feb. 24, 1918 in Greene County to Homer James Ray and Nettie (Hanson) Ray.

She was a homemaker also had been a secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Indianapolis, clerk-treasurer and town council member for the town of Worthington, extra-curricular treasurer for the Worthington-Jefferson School District and treasurer for the Worthington Cemetery. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and was church musician at the Baptist church in Worthington and Freedom.

She is survived by two children, Nancy (John) Wall, Shelbyville; Douglas (Barbara) Neumeyer, Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Stefanie and Shannon, Indianapolis; three step-children, Marilyn Walters, Worthington; Jane (Kenny) McCollum, Spencer; Jim (Liz) Vest, Spencer; nine step-grandchildren; and 18 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Ralph C. Neumeyer, June 5, 1979; second husband, Harold Vest, Dec. 2, 1992; three brothers, Ward, Elmo and Arthur Ray; step-daughter, Sandra Truax.

Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington, 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev. Ron Strohe, officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.

Friends may call at Welch & Cornett 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and 9 a.m. on Friday until time of service.
