Herbert E. Earle, 71, Linton passed away Sunday, Feb. 4, 2007 at Mehodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born March 6, 1935 in Linton, he was the son of Charles and Solome Smith Earle.

He was a member of the Linton Moose Lodge.

Survivors includes his wife, Martha Hensley Earle of Linton; one son, Eddie Earle of Dugger; one daughter, Lisa Helms of Switz City; one step-son Verlin Shields, of Linton; two-step daughters Debbie Tate of Uniontown, Ky., and Brenda Hays of Sullivan; five brothers, Morris Earle of Lyons, Larry Earle, Bob Earle, Charles Earle, Jr., and Mike Earle, all of Linton; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ray Earle, Bill Earle, Andrew Earle and Oscar Earle; four sisters, Alice Smith and Vera Hilderbrand and two infants.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger.
