Larry E. "Doc" Vandeventer, 61, of Bloomfield, passed away at 6:03 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.

Born Nov. 3, 1945 in Greene County, he was the son of Reed and Ruby (Heaton) Vandeventer.

He was retired from Otis Elevator, and worked at SAIC. He was a member of Tulip Church of God in Bloomfield.

Surviving relatives include: his wife Edna M. (Carpenter) Vandeventer of Bloomfield; three children Kimberly Vandeventer, Larrysa Vandeventer, and Tony Vandeventer all of Bloomfield; one grandson Vince Vandeventer of Bloomfield; his mother Ruby Vandeventer of Bloomfield; two brothers Bob and Rick Vandeventer of Bloomfield; two sisters Mable Keller, and Edna Minks, both of Bloomfield..

He was preceded in death by his father.

Service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Jeff Rocky officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield and 1 p.m. until the hour of service Wednesday.
