Helen Louise (Secrest) Allen, 87, of Coalmont passed away at 11:05 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at her residence.

Born Dec. 9, 1919 in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of Charles E. and Nora E. (Nicholson) Secrest.

A 64-year member of the Coalmont Baptist Church, she had worked previously at Formfit Factory, Rash Hardware for 13 years, and Gambles.

Survivors include: her husband, Kendle F. Allen of Coalmont, whom she married May 28, 1938; a son and daughter-in-law Stephen J. and Linda Allen of Coalmont; sister Chloie M. Husband of Coalmont; and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Thelma Hixon.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at McClannahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Chris McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Case Cemetery in Hymera.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
