Ernest "Bud" H. Crites, 77, of Port Charlotte, Fla. and formerly of Spencer, passed away Monday 12, 2007, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Indianapolis, to Robert Harold and Mabel Pearl (Reynolds) Crites.

The owner and operator of Steichen Vending Machine Sales, he moved to Port Charlotte 12 years ago. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include: his wife, Joann (Hatton) Crites of Port Charlotte; son, John David Crites of Port Charlotte; daughters, Patricia Ann Herron of Indianapolis, and Linda Sue Young of St. Augustine, Fla.; brothers, Dale Crites of Fort Worth, Texas, Marvin Crites of Freedom, and Randy Crites of Bloomfield; sister, Deannie Neier of Cloverdale; and six grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer.
