Betty L. Grounds, 79, of Greencastle and formerly of Cloverdale, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Mill Pond Heath Campus in Greencastle.

Born Dec. 12, 1927 in Linton, she is the daughter of John M. and Martha Mattie (Bryant) Miller.

She married Royal D. Grounds on Sept. 11, 1943. He died Sept. 20, 1999.

She was a homemaker.

Survivors include: daughter and husband, Toni Shrader and husband, Howard; two sons, Larry D. Grounds and wife, Chris, of Cloverdale; and Royal D. Grounds, Jr. of Terre Haute; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister; and seven brothers.

Graveside funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Cloverdale Cemetery with David L. Kiley officiating.

Visitation will be at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale from 3-4 p.m. on Saturday.
