Walter Lee Boyd, 83, Dugger, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.

Born March 2, 1924 in Harlan, Ky., he was the son of John William and Sara (Cole) Boyd.

He retired as a fork lift operator at Burnet Binford Lumber Co.

Survivors include: his wife, Geneva Boyd of Dugger; daughters, Judy Mottern and husband Daniel of English; Jessie Wilmoth of Cloverdale and Geraldine Little and husband Joseph of Cloverdale; a son, John Henry Boyd and wide Kandice of Dugger; brothers, Henry Boyd of Indianapolis, Dannel Boyd of Indianapolis and Paul Boyd of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Sara Boyd; a daughter, Willa Lee Carmack; sons Charles Boyd and Walter Lee Boyd Jr.; sisters, Carnetta Boyd, Willa Rainey and Flossie Osborne; and brothers, George Boyd, Charlie Boyd and Edward Boyd.

Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale.

Friends may call from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
