Born in Jasonville on February 2, 1915, she was the daughter of Claude and Gertrude (Wilson) Hastings.
A 1933 graduate of Jasonville High School, she moved to Linton in 1987. She worked as secretary to the superintendent at Jasonville and Shakamak School for 21 years. She was a member of the Lawton Street Christian Church and the Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa, both in Jasonville.
Survivors include one son, Charles Harden, and wife, Nancy of Linton; one daughter, Pamela Blue of Phoenix, Arizona; two granddaughters, Jennifer Valentine, and husband,Dave of Brownsburg, and Dr. Julie Walters, and husband, Eric of Brownsburg; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Beatty, Madison Valentine, Brayden Walters and Brea Walters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Harden on March 17, 1974, a son-in-law, Jim Blue, five brothers, Frank, Bill, Bob, John and Harry Hastings, two sisters, Gail Ketchem and Frances Schwarz, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Linton Chapel at 11 a.m. Friday with Reverend Mike Roth officiating. Burial will follow at the Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
