Born May 21, 1916 in Jasonville, he was the son of Archie and Nancy Jane Zimmerman.
He worked as a butcher at Humphrey's Baker.
He also served in in the U.S. Army during World War II and fought in the Battle of Bulge and three Purple Hearts.
He then became a partner in Borden Milk Company and was a delivery driver.
Survivors include: daughters, Sue Appleby of Clayton, Tanya Wallisa of Linton, Mary Passen of Jasonville; two sons Cliff Zimmerman, Jr. of Sebring, FL and Ron Zimmerman of Indianapolis; sisters, Jean Perry of Jasonville and Wanda Duncan of Plainfield; a brother, Don Perry of Worthington; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Zimmerman, whom he married on April 11, 1936; a son, Jim Zimmerman; sisters, Madge Marshall and Betty Wilson; a brother, Charles Perry; and two grandchildren.

McClannahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Steve Evans officiating. Burial was in Peavey Cemetery at Howesville, IN where military graveside rites were conducted.
