Richard D. Malone, 77, of Bloomfield, passed away at 7:29 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital.

Born May 25, 1930 in Newberry, he was the son of Norval and Nora (Plummer) Malone.

He was a farmer and worked for the Greene County Highway Department. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Bloomfield American Legion Post No. 196.

Surviving relatives include his wife: Marlene (Adams) Malone of Bloomfield; three daughters, Loretta Malone of Lyons, Jane Evans of Brazil, Karen Hickey of Franklin; three sisters, Marjorie Brookshire of Newberry, Virginia Krost of Indianapolis, and Ethel Cox of Linton, two brothers, Lee Malone of Mooresvile and Ralph Malone of Spencer; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be at Mt. Nebo Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. on Monday with Brother Ron Helderman officiating. Burial will at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
