Born May 24, 1929 in Tipton, she was the daughter of Glen Burns and Thelma (McCubbins) Burns.
She formerly worked at Delco Remy in Anderson and was a member of the Lawton Street Christian Church in Jasonville.
Survivors include: a daughter Carla (Michael) Raquert of Linton; a son, Ron (Judy) Pearson of Jasonville; sisters, Nancy (Robert) Hancock of Anderson and Shirley Canaday of Anderson; a brother, David (Wilma) Burns of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Lea Ann Jackson, Michael E. Raquet, Sarah M. Hardesty, Adam E. Pearson and Kristi M. Pearson; three great-grandchildren, Michelle Raquet, Alex Raquet and Natalie Hardesty.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carel E. Pearson, whom she married on Dec. 21, 1946; a son, Steve Pearson; and sister, Maxine Fritch.
A gathering of friends will be held from 3-5 p.m. at the Lawton Street Christian Church Fellowship Hall. A memorial service will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the church.
McClannahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville is in charge of arrangements.
