Born in Elnora on Nov. 21, 1921, he was the son of Otho Dale and Opel Ruth (Johnson) Lemonds.
He was a World War II veteran with the US Army receiving two Bronzes Stars. He worked for the City of Linton as the Superintendent of Utilities for several years. Bob was a member of the BPO Elks No. 866, American Legion Post No. 22, and the VFW Post No. 7118.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Jane (Pritchett) Lemonds; three daughters, Barbara E. Herman (Bob) of Linton, Rhonda J. Galbraith-Cowan (Dan) of Muncie, Linda K. Brown (Jerry) of Red Oak, TX, grandchildren: Stacey Hubbell, Todd Herman, Kylie Ruhl, Lindsay Galbraith, Amanda Flatten, Brittney and Jamie Brown, great-grandchildren, Samantha, Mariah and Jake Hubbell, Ty Ruhl and Railea Wright.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Asel Lemonds and one great-granddaughter Meranda Hubbell.
Funeral services will be held at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel on Monday, July 2, 2007, at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Hilary Vieck officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana, with the American Legion Post No. 22 conducting military graveside rites.
Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 5 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday.
