Dolores M. Lewis, 78, Spencer, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at her residence.

Born Feb. 16, 1929, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Walter E. and Ruth (Bland) Bailey.

She graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, and worked as a teacher's assistant at the Spencer Elementary School, retiring after many years in 1992.

She was a member of the Cornerstone Bible Church of Vandalia.

Survivors include: her husband of 60 years, Preston E. Lewis; one son, Richard E. (Lois) Lewis, of Carlisle; two daughters, Sherry A. (David) Lewis, of Scotia, NY and Robin L. (Jeff) Cooper, of Gosport; one brother, Walter E. Bailey, of Hudson, FL, seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by both parents; and two brothers, Donald, and Glen Bailey. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer with Pastor Bobby Shipman officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home, and also Saturday from 8:30 A.M. until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Breast Cancer Society c/o the funeral home.
