He was born in Lyons on Jan. 10, 1941, the son of William Thomas and Ollie (Carricco)Vaughn.
He worked as a union carpenter for J.L. Wilson Construction in Bloomfield, for the Town of Lyons as the Water Dept. Superintendent, and drove a school bus for the White River Valley School Corporation for more than 15 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Darla Sue Vaughn of Lyons; a son, Jeffery Vaughn of Evansville; a daughter, Teresa Froeschke of Vincennes; a brother, Floyd Vaughn of Lyons; a sister, Patsy Justus of Camby; five grandchildren, Gretchen, Jeffery, Stephanie, Chris and Brittany;and three great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, Linton Chapel with Pastor Don Reed officiating. Burial will follow at the Dog Island Cemetery in Lyons.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m on Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
