Born April 15, 1922 in Coalmont, he was the son of Fred and Helen McGrew Robert B. Gouckenour.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he attended the Terre Haute Bible Baptist Church and Senior Seekers Bible Study. Hew as also a member of the American Rifle Association.
He was a retired engineer with Conrail Railroad with 43 years of service.
Survivors include: brothers Frederick (Mary Lou) Gouckenour of Linton and John "Mac" Gouckenour of Jasonville; a nephew Tony Gouckenour (Marilyn) Gouckenour of Worthington; several other nieces and nephews; and best friend, Kathryn Muench of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley L. Gouckenour in 2000 and a sister, Thelma Morgan.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mattox-Ryan Funeral Home in Terre Haute with Pastor Tony Gouckenour officiating. Burial will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera.
Visitation will be conducted at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
