Born March 15, 1921 in Franklin, MASS, the son of Paul A. Gilbert I and Ida Campbell Gilbert.
He worked in photography in the United States Navy during World War II and until his retirement from NSWC Crane.
He was a member of the Jasonville VFW Post No. 6225, Jasonville American Legion Post No. 172, Jasonville Masonic Lodge No. 530 F & AM, Scottish Rite of The Wabash Valley and Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute.
Survivors include: his wife, Louise Gilbert of Terre Haute; daughters, Dianne (Gilbert) Murray of Pensacola, FL and Victoria Kay (Gilbert) Abshire of Laurel, MO; a son, Paul A. Gilbert III of Terre Haute; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Geraldine (Bissell) Gilbert, who died July 12, 2002.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland.
McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville handled the arrangements.
