James K. Utterback, 69 of Linton, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Indiana Veterans Home in West Lafayette. He was born in rural Paxton on May 2, 1941, the son of James Edgar and Alta Lois (Adams) Utterback. Jim was an U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Crane, was in Air-Traffic Control at O'Hara Field, and managed the American Legion Post #22 in Linton for 15 years...

About 350 Greene Countians -- some curious onlookers, others disenchanted with a government they believe is betraying them -- gathered Saturday for an organizational session of the Greene County Tea Party. "We need to get it through (politicians) thick heads that if they don't do what we ask, we're not going to be electing them again," said Jack Lewis of Worthington. The conservative movement promotes a renewed emphasis on adhering to the U.S. Constitution, which organizers contend has largely been ignored by elected officials in recent years. She was born in Linton on Jan. 17, 1939, the daughter of William Henry Simmons and Minnie Alice Lloyd Simmons. Billie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Linton, and was formerly employed at Glenburn Nursing Home. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother devoting her time to the care of her family...
