RANDOM OBSERVATIONS

First I'd like to thank all who've offered prayers and other acts of kindness and support as my wife Janet underwent major surgery last week. She's doing well and hopes to return home this week.
Since my last post, I've had a chance to make several observations... 1. Why does it seem that all schools can make good chili? 2. If you are in a dirty school, don't you wonder what the custodians' homes look like? 3. How can the Bloomfield school board approve a 7 million dollar budget in 3 minutes - but take 6 weeks to hire an AD? 4. Congrats to Rick Hudson for getting the job. They've finally hired someone who bleeds Cardinal red. I think he'll do a great job. Here's hoping the interim tag is removed by years' end. 5. Can anyone give me a good reason for having a tattoo? It seems to me if you need to have your girlfriend's name on your arm to remember her, she must not be that impressive. 6. I don't like fireworks. I think you can get as much done with some black paper and bright crayons without the risk of blowing your arm off. 7. What's with the questions they ask you at the hospital? "One a scale of 1-10 what is your pain level?"... If it was below 5 I don't think I'd be here. "Do you know where you are?"... I hope I'm at the hospital. 8. People who have children currently in school or relatives who work at the school should not be allowed to be on school boards - It just seems to create too many conflicts of interest. 9. Do you suppose President Bush supports NCLB because he got left behind once? I have to also add this story.... One evening my son went into BW3s after visiting his mother. When he came out, there were two men in the parking lot who had his golf clubs out of his truck - going through looking at them. Joey asked if they liked them and they replied something like "Well yeah - are they yours?"... After finding that they were, one of them asked "What do you shoot?" Joey promptly said about 110... to which the guy responded "well they must not be worth a ----" and promptly threw them back into the truck. This is for the individual who posted under the name SIMMONS. Currently I am deployed to Iraq, been in the military (Active) for 18 years. So what am I doing to support the warfighters, well hell I AM ONE OF THE WARFIGHTERS! I'm not a "big city shysters", I'm just a common soldier who left the small town and has seen alot of the world. Plus if you have no idea what the word "ludacris" means, then maybe you should pull out the dictionary and look it up. So Simmons, it was I who got a good laugh from your reply. Don't thank me, THANK YOU.
Same way some lunatic moron
went from reading my comments
to harrassing me via a gutless
unsigned letter.
Stupidity... simple...
It's Busch beer and the President is Bush. How did this go from Joe's comments to a statement on the War?
busch wanted the oil....thought he could get it and now he screwed up with the cost of our young people..sad...
GonefromIndiana, hey where are you now? You are right, these comments are quite ludicrous and most of us small town folk don't have enough sense than to make ludicrous comments. I was gone from here for about 15 years and came back because I didn't like the ludacris (whatever that is) comments made by big city shysters like you. Yes there is a war going on and many of us spend our days working to support these young kids everyday. It is nice to come home and be enlightened by the big city folks like you. What have you done today to support our warfighters? Thanks.
This is my first time seeing this blog site. So after reading all of these comments about things that are just everyday things, and people actually making a huge deal about them is ludacris. People, there is a war going on, and many small hometown boys and girls are dying everyday. It makes me realize that I am glad that I left the small town area. I have traveled the world and can really see that there is more to worry about than to attack someones random observations.
free speech? have you any idea what was intended when this concept was coined? likly not because your choice of verb usage is horrible try to remember your manners
To those who blog here:
It would seem we have an individual here with a very nasty habit of sending anonymus letters trying to cause folks on this blog trouble. So much for free speech.
you know you are right I was wrong...I must have sniffed some glue last night while i was bored...in writing in this blog...think of what you may....read closely of what i written or maybe I did not clearly state what does go on in the ER's or Dr offices...but you must have alot of time on your hand to investigate on this matter and I commend your effort,,,but it does go on in society,,,,it really does i would not make up this whole scenario....it might be a movie someday...lol...thank you for the challenge and I really have beaten this topic to no end....but yes we all pay for your benifits....that is why our government is always in the red...
Well what an area you live in, you have 20 year old Medicaid patients that cant count, and now you have ER Dr.s that can't remember if they gave you a Script two days ago. I did check with a local ER today, and it must be different where you live, here they can only give you a Script for 3 doses of Meds, after that you need to see a regular DR, for your meds. But I did do some figuring, lets say they do screw up and give this 20 year old deadbeat, that should have never been born, a script for 3 xanax, he has to pay $3.00, because every script cost $3.00, he now sells them for $1.00 a piece on the street, boy he will get rich quick, unless he has to pay $2.89 for the gas to get to the ER or to the area where he is selling them. I may quit my job and go into this line of work. Of course I have to pay $5.00 for my Scripts and you tax payers have to pay the rest, but that doesnt bother anyone because after all no GOVT worker making $35.00 an hour would ever abuse the system.
well,,,,I must have hit a nerve...which is good....so let me see....if you go to the dr...they give you a script....mmmmm...and if you go to the ER....they give you a script...then you go to CVS and get the script filled.....so that is how that works,,,,then you sell them on the street.....then come back to the ER again for the same reason hoping the ER doctor is stupid and tries to put 2 to 2 together realizing you were just there a few days ago and how you could be out of a drug within a few days when reality it is a 30 day perscription...That is how medicaid people who have no job make money....I have seen it done...."you know what makes me sick".....wake up america...I just laugh ....you do not have a clue,,,,you really don't....I just have to laugh....because as physcian your hands are tied when it comes to pain because you can not see it,,,trial lawyers have you by the throat because you will get sued,,,,so the system has a flaw....and people take advantage,,,,so MR Greene County I apologize if I hit a nerve,,,in your line of work a bolt may cost a mere $1.00 but the goverment gets charged $ 2.75....same concept different situations....
John J. Wrong, I am not on Disability, and I also dont draw Medicaid. I gather one of your jobs is as a Dr., because I noticed, that you now can tell if a 20 year old with a bipolar disorder is faking it, or is really sick. And you also can tell if a 20 year old with a back problem, is sick or just lazy. What I didnt understand was how you see them at work, if they dont work. I also want to know the name of the Hospital, that you have visited that gives out prescription drugs to anyone, let alone the drug pushers, So Medicaid users cant count, and dont know where they are half of the time because they are all on drugs. And please tell me what you getting stopped in Sullivan County had to do with lazy, worthless, Medicaid cheating, 20 year olds. And by the way, I work at Crane, and yes you are paying for my insurance, but I gather you dont mind that.
ok in a nut shell.....do you wonder why health care is out of control....the basics....insurance 80/20 reimbursment.....MEDICAID pays a set price and the hospital eats the remainder of the bill...this is consider bad debt...so solution....increase prices to cover the bad debt which people who have insurance is stuck paying for the MEDICAID system. so if you have insurance...your insurance company are now only paying approximately 55% and you have deductibles, and co pays etc. and you are stuck with the rest...there is no right off for insurance carrying customers...A MEDICAID just comes in , shows there card and nothing is said..is that fair...
so that is my opinion, my 1st amendment and like I said...there is alot of fraud in the MEDICAID system
I have a disability, one that cannot be faked. The eye Dr. can look in my eyes & know what I can & cannot see & my prescription lenses tell the story as well.
My father has worked his butt off in he steel mills of Gary Indiana, during the lay offs & strikes was barely able to feed his kids. He was never eligible for Medicaid or Food Stamps because when he did work, he made too much money.
I know some people are on the programs & probably should not be, but some are deserving & your posts sound like you have labled all the ones tha get benefits.
I know finding work as someone with a disability is rough, places like Wal-Mart look at it like a LIABILITY.
oh I for got...sullivan county...number 1 county for meth...I know a cop stopped me for a headlight malfunction as I was going to bloomington (for work) because he was wondering why I was in his county and saw I had "77" tags...he thought I was delevering drugs...I replied ..."nope going to work " He explained why the traffic stopped...
I do work at a job that pays my insurance....a matter a fact I work at 2 jobs and put in 160 hours a pay period. I work at a job that I see 20y/o's who are on disability for back injuries, bipolar disorders, and who just play the system because they are too lazy to get a job....grant it the older population who are rightfully need Medicaid really deserve it...I am talking about our younger generation who are just lazy.....so do you think it is fair that my insurance pays a portion, I pay a co pay, I pay out of my check to have insurance when someone who is able to work and is on medicaid and pay nothing at all, plus on top of that the hospital comes after you for the rest of the balance which the insurance did not pay.....and yes I have some disabled friends are waiting 4 years just to get assistance....so MR NOT FROM Greene COUNTY....guessing your are disabled...come and see my world and you will be ammazed of the fraud in the MEDICAID system
John J. let me quess you work at a job that pays your insurance, which means that in one way, or the other, someone supports you and your family, if someone was crazy enough to marry you. I do hope all of your disabled friends tell you how much they liked your post. I forgot you probably dont have any friends.
agree with GGC.com
I have 5 tattoo's, none of them are words, and they all have a special meaning to me. The only names I would ever get are my parents or my kids, because they won't change.
Mike was supposed to be MINE, Mistyped it...
Since I have one, let me comment on the Tattoo.
Some of us have them because we choose to. Mike is not of a name but of a drawing that is important to me. It is a reminder of something I do not ever want to forget. Like fireworks, noone forces you to participate or even look at them.
Some of the other issues, I am not about to touch......
for question 7....not to be disrespectful and we do have a right to the first amendment,,,,
the reason why they ask your pain level and where you are out is to determine if you have insurance...the reasoning is...if you have Medicad (the gold card user's) because those people can not count, and they do not know where they are at half the time because they are on drugs....because that is there occupation...they come into the ER's lookin for perscripition drugs to sell on the street....so if you have insurance and you are wondering why you are in small claims court is that Medicade only pays a certain amount and us working people have to pay for those gold card user's bill and on top of that taxes for the state pays the bill too. so 2 times bent over ...so in recap....medicade can not count and do not know where they are...insurance working hard people bent over for the no counting and do not know where they are gold card carriers....
Good thoughts there simmons..
most people do not know that (or try to hide it) but Tattoo's were done to show you were a slave--- and who you belonged too. Now if you have your wife or girlfriends name is tattoo'd on'ya well then you best not be "playing" around LOL.
No. 5 reminds me of the old Steven Wright joke, "I want to get a tattoo of myself on my entire body, only two inches taller." I really wish I'd have said that.
When I was young and crazy (a long, long time ago), I would always be on the prowl for a gal who had a tattoo. When I'd meet that girl with a tattoo, I would just be spinning thoughts through my mind, Oh Boy, here's a girl who's not at all afraid of making a really bad decision that she will surely regret later in life.
BOy oh boy--- I work to late one night and you all get into a nice ol'e fight ...
good job Joe way to spice up a dead board :) I like that!
Best Wishes to your wife.
Oh and Joey would have been better off having those clubs stolen---LOL-- the the cruds were right.. he needs better clubs or a Garmon for the balls so they find the holes better.
OH and to make this "my sides more right"
I think that the statement about boards is right for most cases-- only wrong in some. However when I get elected to congress I want to push a bill to make everyone pass an IQ test to get to vote!
Come on Joe, Let's keep this blog on the up and up. When and where did Joey ever break 120?
Yeah, especially on "blue tray day" :)
great obervations coach Hart.
you have brought some greene county idiots out of the woodwork.
PS
Dugger had the best chili in the mid 90s
Thanks to Sue
I LOVE CHILI! ;-)
I just love our discourse here Leonard...we really should do lunch sometime!! Our school has the best chili!!
Oh, that hurts Ethermuse. Come on...I'm not that stupid. Good one though...
Oh, and Leonard, are you a school board member per chance??
Leonard old buddy the truth bears repeating. If that makes me crazy
to you then so be it... but then, that would make you crazy too wouldn't it?
Seems you like the song you're singing;
albeit slightly off pitch!!
Ethermuse... the crazy Greene County music teacher. Same old song and dance... How A-ether-MUSING!
My heart soars like an eagle, first of all, Joe's wife is doing good, then Joe returns to the e-waves with some great corny Joe stuff and finally, all these great comments. Ah yes, like an eagle. It wasn't a great day at work, but now I can kick back and feel good. Thanks to everyone.
Leonard, if you would spend a day in the shoes of a public school educator you'd change your tune. The song you might sing? "The basketball blues"!
Sounds like a lot of cynisism from Ethermuse. I guess he/she knows the minds of every elected official everywhere. Come on... give me a break. That's the 2nd dumbest comment I've ever read.
if you don't see any reason for having a tattoo, then nothing will convince you otherwise.
How about this: "School board members ALL have agendas that have NOTHING to do with education".
Agreed 100% pastime 12335!
One of the dumbest comments I've ever read...
"People who have children currently in school... should not be allowed to be on school boards."
Those are the people that care most about the students in the school systems... and not just the good ole boys and their taxes.
