Former Lyons 1954 graduate and L&M coach Jim Duffy was on the Evansville team that won the 2007 Senior Olympics National 3 0n 3 Basketball Championship. Jim was joined by Bob Walker, Joe Willis, Bob Ewin and Rich Koressel. They played nine games in three days. Basketball teams from thirty-four states converged on Louisville's Freedom Hall for a chance to earn the gold medal. The team from Evansville emerged as National Champs by defeating Texas 41-37 in the final game. They also played teams from Colorado, Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Arizona and New Jersey. All players were seventy years old or older. |
