Place Your Bets on Gas Prices

In parts of Indiana, I've read that gasoline prices are about $1.80-something a gallon recently. In Linton, I noticed the stations were around $2.15 yesterday.
I, along with everyone else, are left to wonder: will the price continue to go down, or will this be only a short-term phenomenon? And if this does become the new price level -- or even lower -- I wonder how quickly we will all forget how quickly prices can go back up again? I'm guessing that right after the elections that prices creep back to the 2.60-2.80 / gallon range. Whoever wins, will claim they had something to do with the drop in prices over the past few weeks. 2.11 in terre haute this morning.
I hate it when people think that politicians are behind the gas prices.
Oddly enough, they probably will go back up after the election. Mainly because OPEC reduced output not too long ago (thus theoretically increasing crude prices), and it takes awhile for that price jump to hit the pumps.

More like that oil from up north. We'll really hose those blue-eyed Arabs up there in the patch!
