Back a few months ago, students in the Foundations of Entrepreneurship course at Marian College made a short presentation at the Linton City Council meeting. Along with this presentation, they prepared a written report for the City of Linton.

A hard copy of this report is now available at the Linton Public Library in the "Indiana" section. I dropped it off the other day. So, if you get the chance, be sure to take a look.

Special thanks to Professor Robert Schuttler for making this all possible.

What's this "library" thing you speak of?

The Foundations of Entrepreneurship course at Marian College in Indianapolis worked on a section, entitled "social entrepreneurship" where the City of Linton was their case study. The exercise included several modules, with each addressed by a smaller sub-group from the course. Examples of the modules included:

Module 1 - Demographics -- Population (micro demographics)

Module 2 - Community characteristics (macro demographics)

Module 3 - Local Infrastructure

Module 4 - Local Interest development e.g. the wetlands @ Goosepond

Module 5 - Business Education in the community

Module 6 - Is a Marian Business Laboratory possible? How?

Module 7 - State and Federal Economic Development assistance

Module 8 - Current local business activity review

Module 9 - Best practices in communities throughout the country
