Did you feel the earthquake?

I must admit I can usually sleep through anything, but when it hit shortly after 5:30 this morning (Friday, April 18), it woke me up.

My wife got up and asked what happened, and once I got up, we walked around the house. I asked if it was storming, and she said no.

Could it be a train? We didn't know.

We went back to bed, and when we got up about 40 minutes later, I turned on the TV and found out it was an earthquake.

I can remember the earthquake in 1987. My wife and I were in the Indianapolis area visiting family, but the quake caused some local damage. I remember some bricks fell off the courthouse.

Hopefully there will be no more shaking in the near future.

Did you feel the earthquake this morning? Where were you at the time?

Yes, I felt it. I was getting ready for work, and shake, shake, shake. We initially thought it was a train.

It was 5:45 AM on my alarm clock, but I have it set a few minutes fast, so I'll get up in the morning. There were a few lighter temors afterward that were fairly faint.

Yep! I felt it alright! I was in my dorm room in Muncie. It woke both me and my roommate.

I felt it and wondered if it was a tornado. I was sitting at Wendy's in 1987 when the last quake hit. I accused the people sitting with me of shaking the table but it was an earthquake!

I was frying mushrooms, my first thought was tormado, then wind, then train, but when I walked outside and nothing was happening I thougth earthquake. I had the TV on and when I heard David Wire say they felt it in Terre Haute, that is when I knew it was a earthquake. Mushroom were pretty tasty, even after the quake!

Woke me up at around 5:30 thinking my house was getting ready to get blown down by a tornado..then I noticed it wasn't storming.

Felt the tremor at 11:15 down in Vincennes, gave the business building at VU really good jolt.

My alarm clock had just woken me up 7 minutes before it hit and I was still lying in bed. I felt some mild shaking for about 10-15 seconds then some much stronger shaking for about 5 that really got my attention! I could definately hear the house creaking and popping. Then, the mild shaking for 20-30 seconds more. About a minute or so later, it shook some more for a few seconds. Anyone else feel that second hit?
