Snow? What is the big deal?

Do people react differently today to snow than they did 20 or 30 years ago?

It seems like every time the weatherman calls for 2 to 4 inches of snow, the public goes crazy. I don't remember the same happening back in the 1970s.

Do you remember the blizzard of 1978? My high school missed two weeks of school, and I remember my county road being cleared so one car could pass. The snow was 10-15 feet high on both sides of the road. If you met another car, someone had to back up.

So what's the deal with 2 to 4 inches of snow?

I must admit I don't like ice, but a little snow isn't such a big deal.

Depends on what you are driving Chris. I got up yesterday and headed up town for coffee in the old Mustang and couldn't get up the hill on Seminary. So I went home. I didn't go crazy at all, just went home.

2 words - LAKE EFFECT.

Growing up in N.W. Indiana, we always had lake effect snow. Those words me to expect the unexpected. I remember many times getting a foot an hour.

The snow does not bother me.
