We would like to remind everyone that the April Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce meeting will be April 21. This will be at noon at the Linton Elks Lodge.
Our speaker will be representative(s) from the West Gate Authority project. They will update us on the progress of the Tech Park and be able to answer your questions. * The next session of the Steppin on Up Program will be April 7 at 6 p.m. at the Glenburn Community and Wellness Center. A presentation will be given on Diabetes and the NNORC (Neighborhood Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) in Linton. It is recommended that you register in advance to participate. Register by calling the Glenburn Community and Wellness Center at 847-3509. * The Chamber's spring fish fry will be April 24 from 4-8 p.m. at the Roy Clark Community Building. Tickets are available at the Chamber office. Advance tickets are $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 11 and under. The meal includes fish, baked beans, slaw, bread, drinks and dessert. Proceeds from this event are used for the Linton Freedom Festival. * As a reminder, if anyone in the community is holding a Certifichecks gift certificate, the Chamber office needs to know this now. Please stop into our office before April 8. We need to get your contact information and a copy of the gift certificate no later than that date. This applies to individuals who have not redeemed a gift certificate as well as businesses who may be holding an ISF check. * Mike and Donna Smith at Smith Printing are pleased to announce that they have added full color copying to their full line of printing services. They can copy your full color flyers, brochures or documents up to 11 x 17. They can help you with layout and design, or bring in your original, CD, or flash drive and they will do the rest. You can also e-mail your document and they will have them ready when you need them. Starting Monday, March 30 through the end of April as an introductory offer they will offer 10% off of any order over 50 color copies. Call or stop in for more details at 88 W. Vincennes St. and at 847-4837. * You can get free computer training at WorkOne Linton each month. You can learn computer basics, Word and Excel software, and you can go at your own pace! Contact WorkOne at 847-4479 for more information. * Greene County Pride day will take place from 8 a.m. to noon on April 11 and will pick up unsightly trash that mars the landscape of and around Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife Area. Volunteers will meet at the pole barn. The barn is located about two miles south of Linton on State Road 59 (just at the west end of the eastern most curve of the highway). Volunteers can preregister by calling the Greene County Foundation at 659-3142. Volunteers should dress for the weather of the day. Waterproof boots are recommended. Orange vests, work gloves, coffee and donuts will be provided. Cheryl is the executive director of the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce. She can be reached by telephone at 847-4846. |
