Holtsclaw speaks at Linton-Stockton Chamber meeting

Thanks to everyone who joined the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce at our fish fry last Thursday.

* Thanks to everyone who attended Tuesday's Chamber meeting at Stoll's Country Inn. A special thanks to our speaker Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw.

New Chamber members April and Marc Ranard were introduced. Chris Pruett from the Greene County Daily World introduced two new employees, Jason Vaughn and Josh Bombard, who will be working with the new Marketplace program offered by the newspaper.

Congratulations to Timberly Ferree. Timberly was this month's door prize winner.

If you would like more information regarding the check deception program offered by the Prosecutor's office, please contact the Chamber office.

* The Chamber's November meeting will be at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Pizza Hut.

* We want to welcome new Chamber members Ranard's Hauling and Removal.

Ranard's is offering free weekly curbside recycling to Linton and all of Greene County. In addition to their recycling program, Ranard's also offers hauling of sand, gravel and dirt.

For more information on how to sign up for the curbside recycle program you can contact Ranard's at 384-0999, e-mail them at marcranard@sbcglobal.net, visit their Web site at www.ranardshauling.com.

Recycle sign-up forms and information are also available at the Chamber office.

* The Greene County Clothe-A-Child and Toys-for-Tots program kicked off Oct. 1. The Chamber office has applications for these programs available.

Applications are accepted Oct. 1-31.

Applications are also available at the Greene County Office of Family and Children in Bloomfield, Bloomfield Town Hall, Jasonville Utility Office and Worthington Town Hall.

* The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) introduced a new loan guaranty program for credit-worthy small business borrowers. Capital of up to $350,000 is available for their business. The program is called Small/Rural Lender Advantage.

Small/Rural Lender Advantage (Small/Rural) has streamlined applications and processing time by permitting Small/Rural lenders to use reduced paperwork and a special credit scoring model. These loans are currently available from smaller community banks and from credit unions doing a smaller volume of loans: Ameriana Bank, Centier Bank, Crossroads Bank, Farmers State Bank, First Farmers Bank & Trust, German American Bancorp, Grabill Bank, Old National Bank, The Farmers Bank, Three Rivers Federal Credit Union.

SBA is offering four information sessions regarding this program. Sessions are 7:30 a.m. (ET) Tuesday, Oct. 28 or Thursday, Nov. 6 or at 10 a.m. (ET) on Thursday Oct. 30 or Thursday, Nov. 13.

The seminars will include: Details about Small/Rural loans, Eligibility, How the money can be used, and How to apply for the loans. For more information or details on how to sign-up for the online seminar, contact the Chamber office.
