After having an exciting trip to BWCAW, It's good to be home.

Our trip to Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, is always fun but exhausting adventure.

After arranging for our permit with the U.S.F.S. 8 months in advance. We met with our outfitter to get our canoes and live bait, then off to our entry point. At the entry point Mark (the outfitter)unloaded our canoes from the drop off van and we started our adventure, we traveled through rivers and lake chains to get to our base camp. On our way to base camp we paddled and portaged over 3 portages and 3 beaver dams.

At our campsite which was a rock outcropping overlooking a northern wilderness lake. We fished, hiked, saw a variety of wildlife and looked at the stars. We had shore dinners of Northern Perch, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye we also caught Northern Pike and through them back.

The weather was cool and breezy with a little rain and a little sun, the bugs were not bad at all.

After spending our time in the field (a full week) we paddled and portaged our way back to our entry point where Mark would pick us up at the appointed time.

After spending the night in Ely we started home 14 hrs and 860 miles all in all a great wilderness adventure.

We have many of the same adventures right here in our county, if we only take time to look.

There's no time to waste, I have tree stands to prepare, on to the next adventure.
