With our many outdoor pursuits late summer and early fall are always busy.
Preparing for a wilderness adventure to BWCAW. (Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness). This is a trip we have been taking last few years and is a great time of fellowship and fishing. Preseason scouting for early archery, this is a good chance to get out and check on deer patterns and see how they may have changed for last year. Wildlife study around the area is always fun and we get to see a great variety of wildlife, but in the last few weeks I have been noticing more migratory birds coming and going. The Great Blue Herons and the Great Egrets in Goose Pond units 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13 are really a beautiful thing to see. As you can see fall at our house is a busy time to be an outdoors person. Chuck, Thank you for your written interest in wildlife. You usually are a few weeks ahead of my thinking which reminds me of what is coming.
While spring is my favorite season, each season has it's wonderful natural experiences.
It is good to see some more species of birds coming in.
Chuck, what will this winter be like? Is it going to be cold or mild? Do you use any tricks like the persimmon seed trick to predict? Just curious. Thought an outdoorsmen like yourself might have something up his sleeve.
