I've only seen the one kind. Humming birds are great to watch! In the early spring they come to the windows and look in. They seem to know where their food comes from. If you have your feeders where you can sit close to them, the humming birds will get right in your face and give you a good looking over. I was really surprised at how much noise they make. And they way they fight with each other! We had to move our feeders away from the deck because of the cats and because the raccoons were tearing up the feeders while drinking the food.

Just to share a humor Hummingbird story... Several years ago, my husband and I were visiting his aunt and family in Wisconsin. She had several plants on her patio as well. One morning, her husband stepped outside for a minute. When he returned, his head was swaying and he had a bit larger than a softball red whelp on his forehead... right between the eyes.

We all looked at him and said "Are you alright? What happened?" His reply, as his head was still swaying.... "Hummingbird".

We too have several hummingbirds and love to take pictures of them. But, we try to stay out of their way.

i remember one summer I had just got done mowing the lawn for her on about a 95 degree day, opened up the fridge for a drink and she had the food or drink mix or whatever its called in there and I just thought it was fruit punch kool-aid!!!!! boy was I in for a surprise with the first big gulp!!!!!!
