A very busy Monday morningPosted Monday, March 8, 2010, at 8:55 PM
It's been a very busy (Monday) morning and I'm going to share.
Walked in the door and was immediately met by a co-worker who had taken photos of a Sunday afternoon house fire in Linton. The fire was in her neighborhood and she decided to take matters in her own hands and snap a few shots. Thanks Tina -- your quick response gives visual detail to the fire story. Next I was cut short in checking out the fire photos when the phone rang within minutes of walking in the door. This time it was good news from my friend, Dinah Fuller, at Easter Greene Middle School. Turns out the EG Scrabble Team fared well at Sunday's state competition and Dinah immediately wanted to share the good news with me. Look for a detailed story plus a photo in Wednesday's edition of the Greene County Daily World. Next up will be a phone call to Linton-Stockton School for a follow-up on Saturday School. Both sons, Ramsey and Jazz, attended and I received very differing reports from them... I'm sure it's because Rams is a freshman and Jazz is a fourth-grader. Nonetheless if anyone would like to provide feedback for a 'Saturday School' story later in the week, just give me a call. Remember it will be for the record so I'll have to use your name. Unless, of course you want to talk off the record.... It's really funny because school at L-S was delayed for two hours on Monday morning due to fog. Upon receiving the a.m. phone call -- in reference to the delay-- I thought what irony, school on Saturday and sleep in on Monday. (That is for Rams and Jazz anyway.) Rams took full advantage and was still sleeping when I left for the office at 8 a.m. although Jazz was up around 7:30 a.m. Tonight (Monday), I'll also be busy, as a Linton City Council meeting is on my agenda at 7 p.m. Hopefully, I'll have a report on the city's proposed golf cart ordinance. So far it's been a busy Monday morning... all this and it's only 10 a.m. As usual it's going to be a L-O-N-G Monday... But before I wrap this up, I'd like to leave you with another share.... If you light a lamp for somebody, it will also brighten your own path. -- Buddhist saying Shine on. Timberly is a staff writer at the Greene County Daily World.
