Just being thankful

It's that time of the year, so let's see what I have on that thankful list (in no particular order for those over-analyzers out there):

* People who are strong enough to fly their opinions no matter what.

* Barack Obama's win.

* My son, Jazz, who I believe was sent here to teach me patience ....the long, hard way.

* My son, Rams, who I can always count on for solid conversation ...way beyond his years.

* My husband, Kade, for his culinary skills. (He's on the list of "Greene County's best chefs"-- right beside our good friend Marnie H.)

* Loud music, soft music, '80s hair, Frank Sinatra in the air, Jerry Reed's "Struttin'", Tommy Emmanuel's "Initiation", Parliament, The White Stripes, Elton John, Chaka Khan, Steely Dan....this list really goes on.

* Being a writing fool.

* Sleep.

* Our amazing home.

* Getting the required two stories a day. (Once again, this viewpoint doesn't count.)

* Being aware of human evolution.

* Digital photography.

* All of our family and friends (dad, mom, coo-coo, papa, Shaun, Lex,....etc.). Each one has a special place in my life and my heart.

* Quantum physics, Bell's Theorem, and "The Dancing Wu Li Masters" (Kevin, have you read my copy yet?)

* Finding a good quick read. Mother Jones, Ode, Newsweek, The Christian Science Monitor and being open to suggestions...i.e. mental_ floss...(Thanks for the complimentary copy, Shauna!)

* Documentaries, because, I really am a nerd at heart.

* Realizing that I am different and celebrating it.

* Philosophy.

* Human beings who live from their hearts.

* Standing back and observing others. ( After all, I almost majored in sociology.)

* Days that give me reason to add to this list.

* Change.

I would like to see this list of "Greene County's best chefs." Just curious, which culinary institution did he attend? I do hope he's not one of those Hyde Park fellows.

I am thankful for beer mostly.

And bacon.

I am thankful that "W"'s reign is almost over and we can get this country back in the hands of the people that care and have compassion for those less fortunate.

I am thankful for family and friends that continue to hold me up in prayer and for a fair and loving God that answers prayer.

I am thankful for music...all kinds for whatever my mood is

I am thankful for Timberly for keeping me interested by her writings. Keep giving us your perspective on life.

Greene County Patriot: Being an educated man as you are, I do hope that you at least believe in microevolution?

Greene County Patriot: meh, call it what you will, but thanks at least for not turning a blind eye to science all together.

Right after health and well being of family, Obama's win is at the top of the list! A chance to see history made and a chance to hopefully see true change happen for our country. Then all the other things I try to be thankful for throughout the year. The world would be so much greater if we could all remember to be thankful for SOMETHING everyday, just one thing, wouldn't it? (Or, maybe we could strive to be the type of person who gives someone else something to be thankful for, even in a small way?)

For a great documentary/entertainment viewing of this topic, check out 'What Would Jesus Buy?" from your local video store. Very moving from the "Church of Stop Shopping". ;)
