Believe

I have a small wooden plaque hanging near my desk at work. The inscription on it reads "Believe."
It's been hanging here for sometime. For some reason I chose the word "Believe" over other inspirational words such as faith and hope. At the time, I was drawn to the word but not clear on just why. Now, I am. You see I have always had an innate belief in myself. I know I can accomplish whatever I choose as long as I put my mind to it. But, I just wasn't sure of others. I never believed in others as much as I believed in myself. (Well-- with a small exception and that is I have always believed in my kids.) Maybe I believed that others would only let me down. Fully trusting in others when only anticipating hurt left me with little faith in this world we live in. So, I continued to believe in myself. Now, let me tell you what kind of lonely world it is without trust. When your happiness relies on what others think, say or do-- you don't believe. You only expect. And when you expect you are let down over and over again. You also define happiness with how others value you. Did I please my co-workers, my family and friends? And if others don't live up to your expectations you forget about believing. To me, believing is... Knowing that each and everyday will be just what I need and trusting that I am always right where I am supposed to be. I knew I bought that "Believe" plaque for a reason. Now, I believe in more than me. I also believe in you. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Oaf-ra is part of the problem in our country.
Notice she comes on after soap operas...just in time to catch the most "intelligent" viewing demographic.
Something else that might change your life is having Oprah air a pregnant man.
I would not call this credible journalism. It is one step above Jerry Springer!
I believe!! I've believed for over a year now that somehow, Oprah Winfrey would take stand against puppy mills, which by the way , flourish in our area. Set your timers, tell your friends, DO NOT MISS IT....>IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND HOW YOU LOOK AT IT>
will get to work on that, stay tuned........
