Consume. Consume. Consume.

It's amazing what money can buy.
Political ads overstuffed with lies. Car collections packed away tightly, just waiting for a cruise. Lap dogs without leashes. And guns for protection that may never even get used. Buy some more. For now and for later. Consume and throw away what we do not intend to use. If someone else has it, then we must make the purchase too. Big screen TVs in every room. Trade in the vehicle. Make mine new. If we get overstuffed, just rent some metal storage space. Consume. Consume. Consume. Cable TV, TiVo or DISH? Decisions. Decisions. Oh what to do? Fast food, organic and new trendy diet foods. Remodel the kitchen and take the old out for trash. If your neighbors are doing it, then so must you. Cell phones, iPods and BlackBerries galore. Buy some quickly. Score! Score! Score! Upgrade that computer. It simply must do more. The latest fashions. Last year's will not do. Paris, Britney and Lindsay headlining the cover of tabloids and the news. Never mind the war, what are we supposed to do? Turn on the tube, flip the channel and consume. interesting article on the post pax- americana.
Just what we wanted...It will be interesting to see how many gold medals we win at bejiing. Of course some people do not even want us to participate which will really lower our medal total.
Its funny how no one mentions tebetians dragging manchurian immigrants into the streets and stringing them up.

Here is an article detailing our position among prosperous and stable nations.
Presently we rank 22nd and falling...
Do we really want to be less prosperous?
What we need is more shopping sprees!
Not with free money sent to by the goverment which does nothing but add to the potential inflation problem we might have but ones made from capital gained from some sort of production.
I see your point. I get it from all over. I swear my Environmental Science prof is totally looney on it. Let us remember though, that Al Gore is getting sued for fraud by the weather channel and technological advancements solve problems we have esp with the rate of population growth and resouce consumption every day.
The problems and challeges we presently face on a daily basis are PRODUCTION related not consuption.
Example: we can not grow enough food in all the gardens in town to feed us therefore we shop at supermarkets. Without fossil fuels there is no food at the supermarket. We like to eat. It is about the only legal indulgence left besides sex. (Look out for your rights on those as well). Therefore fuel goes up and then so does the cost of food. There is also an additional concept of scarcity that you might also contend with eventually. If we do not produce enough fuel then there is not enough food. Increase production thru technological advancement and infrastruture improvement and you get more food at a lower cost. We might get fat but consider the alternative ie: Ethiopia.
Shopping sprees are also good because the people doing the spree like to do it. They earned it through some sort of production for the most part and,
as matter of fact, I urge people to run out right now and go on a shopping spree in downtown linton. There are some wonderful merchants located there that would love to get you something nice, shiny, and new. Buy it and feel good about yourself for it.
It is a persons individual responsibility to consume as much as possible in order to stimulate economic activity.
Ask the Chinese people if they would like to live organically. They have been living like that for 3000 years and now those people can not wait to live like civilized human beings.
It is a shame that in America we are so spoiled that we ask, like it is something good, for people to live meagerly. All I hear is that we are to fat or the vehicles Americans drive are to nice.
WARNING: We just might get what you are asking for.
I, personally, do not like to be cold, hungry, and broke. If you find that you have to much, feel free to bring me any of your extra money, food, gold or whatever you have that you feel guilty about.
The earth is fine. Humans are in pretty good shape: execept for there is not enough freedom. Where you find poverty you also find a few telling the many how they should live.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
When is the city of Linton going to get a recycling program?
